STYLE GURU STYLE: Less Is More

The recent J.W. Anderson runway show was incredible. The collection was a mixture of everyday looks that incorporated natural colors. Nude and tan colors make for an appealing everyday fall and winter outfit. In his pre-fall 2015 show Anderson demonstrates a cream color in many articles of clothing. Usually I am someone who loves striking bold colors. However, after viewing this collection, I decided to give the crisp and clean color a try.

Today I paired a dark jean with a cream-colored sweater. A simple look, yes, but far from boring. I also added a small-heeled boot to complete the ensemble. I’m sure I can speak on behalf of many when I say loose and comfy sweaters are ideal. I mean who would deny being comfortable while being fashionable? This cream sweater is one of my favorites because it’s also light. There’s nothing worse than sitting in a sweltering hot classroom while wearing a thick itchy sweater.

To complete this everyday look, I added a few accessories. Today’s sunny day called for a pair of my favorite shades. Their shape is fun and flirty and reminds me of a ‘50s past time. A long necklace was also essential to completing this outfit. Although I was going for a simpler look, the necklace acts as a subtle attention grabber. My final personal touch was adding a blissful berry lip color. No matter the simplicity of an outfit, a little shade of the lip can never hurt.

Get My Look: 1. A loose comfy sweater. 2. A low pair of boots with a small heel. 3. An eye grabbing necklace.
