STYLE GURU STYLE: Layers on Layers

When dressing for a casual weekend outfit that will be good for me, I usually tend to choose something that will look awesome at 9:00 A.M. as well as it would look 9:00 P.M. My go-to recently has been cozy knit cardigans, denim jackets and mainly all-around earthy colors to set the tone for that exact casual weekend wear look.

My (almost) everyday denim jacket is from J.Crew, it’s extremely worn-in and is honestly the perfect piece on top of any 2-3 layer outfit for me. Here, it’s layered over my beige cardigan and khaki long sleeve shirt underneath, both purchased at H&M. For my bottoms, I’m wearing a pair of brand new pants I purchased at Club Monaco from their new October collection (which is immaculate, may I add). The dark olive pants that I’m wearing are part of the Super Slim-fit line they have at Club Monaco, each pant has a two percent stretch in them and it comes in this cool, dark olive tone, a dark navy wash, an all black pair and a faded black pair. For my sock game, I’m wearing a pair of navy socks with white polka dots on them, paired with some Converse I purchased a few weeks back in this off-white/vanilla color.

Speaking of October, it’s the perfect month (next to November, if that month isn’t freezing) for cozy cardigans layered with a light coat or a denim jacket like I did! It’s the perfect way to tackle that awkward 60 degrees during the day and 40 degrees at night phenomenon if you’re out the whole day and you’re unsure of what to wear!
