STYLE GURU STYLE: Keeping Fall Colorful

October 19th, 2015 at 2:00am

Fall fashion is usually about bringing the earth-tones in and working the bright, floral tones of summer out. I’m never one to shy away from welcoming the beauty of brown, burgundy and creams into my everyday wardrobe but there’s not much I love more than holding onto my summer brights as long as the weather stays above 60 degrees and the leaves on the trees haven’t changed colors yet!

After looking over the kate spade new york fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I was more than inspired by the monochromatic theme with plenty of bright pinks and reds added in. The contrast provided a tasteful transition into fall that I immediately knew I could follow. Faux fur and jeweled details brought the classic dressy nature of a cold weather wardrobe together with the warm, bright colors.

My natural style is preppy and bright by nature, so I often go to kate spade new york for inspiration. I am a total sucker for classy pieces and often do well in translating these concepts into everyday style. For this look, I took the color palette from the kate spade collection and combined it with classic denim and a comfortable and stylish shoe to accomplish the everyday look. This cream button-up from Old Navy is classic as well and to me is very kate spade. The faux fur in the collection of course led me straight to this faux fur vest that has a beautiful, rich color and fits a little big. Normally, I would have chosen to wear this in a smaller size but with this vest I thought the bigger fit would translate a more comfy feel. Of course, I finished the look with this Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in “Fuchsia Shock” and this Princess Crown necklace.

Get My Look: 1. These or any dark-wash denim skinny jeans 2. A chic cream blouse 3. These lace-up flats 4. Faux fur vest.
