STYLE GURU STYLE: I’m Yelling TIMBer

It’s all about taking elements from runways and incorporating those ideas into daily wear. In runway shows, there is always something on an outfit that sticks out. It doesn’t matter the designer or season, just that there is something that pulls the eye in. Whether it is a funky pattern, pop of color, fringe or fur, there is always a statement piece. In Tommy Hilfiger’s fall 2014 ready-to-wear show, layers were a crucial element in the designs. It is so easy to just throw a vest, jacket or scarf on top of an outfit paired with boots to keep your feet warm in the decreasing degrees.

As much as I wish I could pull some of the clothing out from my computer screen, I had to make do. Many outfits were filled designs, colors and accessories incorporated into these looks. I took the pattern, boots and layers of the models and made an easy, everyday outfit perfect for fall.

What’s fall without boots, right? High-heeled boots aren’t my forte for class. Instead, I used my Timberlands as a pop of color because some days are drearier than others and the world needs more color than gray, fall clouds. I wanted to go with some kind of layering, but I wanted it to be really simple. I grabbed a white vest, a black long sleeve shirt and a scarf to complete the look.

The great thing is that boots and layers will probably never go out of style. It is a simple look that is super easy to accessorize.

Get My Look: 1. Colorful boots. 2. A vest. 3. A pop of pattern.
