STYLE GURU STYLE: I Rock Tom Ford

If there’s anything we can take away from Tom Ford’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show, my fellow Fashionistas, it’s this—you can’t go wrong with an all-black fringed outfit, plus a chunky necklace and some black riding boots.

While I would love to wear the actual pieces from this celebrity-favored brand (did you catch both of the Hadid sisters walking in the show?), it’s a bit out of my price range. I decided to create a look inspired by this collection, using both department store pieces and more affordable picks.

Let’s go from head to toe. My necklace is vintage and borrowed from my fabulous mother. Like I said in my last post, I love a piece with a story. My mother found the ivory piece as a brooch in a vintage shop and had it made into a necklace. My short sleeve mock turtleneck top comes in a variety of colors, including the maroon color that I feature on my lips, nails and necklace today. This color is actually the Pantone color of the year, and it’s called Marsala. You’re going to be seeing it everywhere this year, both on the runways and on the streets.

My Revlon lipstick is a perfect match to the popular color, and who doesn’t love to match their nails to their lips? My fringe leather skirt is the priciest piece in the outfit, but it’s a piece that will be indispensable during autumn and winter. This piece has amazing movement, and you’ll look just like one of Ford’s runway models while you’re walking to class or to dinner with friends. My boots were purchased from Forever 21, and they were an amazing deal. These boots are a staple piece in my closet for fall and winter, and I love layering them with colored boot socks to add a pop of color in the dreary winter months.

Get My Look: 1. Riding boots. 2. Statement necklace. 3. Fringe skirt.
