My fall 2015 wardrobe generally consists of loose shirts and dresses in all neutral colors, thick oversized sweaters, bohemian printed scarves, ripped boyfriend jeans, high top sneakers and leather riding boots. Although these are my go-to looks and my favorite items to wear when I am not in the mood to create a new outfit, it is nice to step outside of my comfort zone and switch things up every once in a while.
While stumbling upon Marc Jacobs’ fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I found inspiration from his models in sporting the dark and edgy, yet sophisticated look. In Marc Jacobs’ fall 2015 collection, the models are in long, loose dark shirts and dresses, along with fur coats and vests. They also have black heels on and dark lips, which give off an eerie yet refined feel. This collection definitely has the perfect combination of classy and edgy, which is an extremely hard thing to accomplish.
Marc Jacobs’ fall 2015 collection challenged yet encouraged me to put my own twist on this look. I started with a dark and shaggy faux fur vest and let my imagination run wild from there. I paired the vest with a loose, neutral colored tank top and ripped warn in charcoal black jeans. I wore dark red lipstick and black booties just like the models in the runway show. Lastly, to make the look completely my own, I added a long gold necklace and a gray beanie, which gave it an overall city-chic feel.
