As I was watching the Juicy Couture spring 2015 ready-to-wear collection come down the runway, my thoughts escaped to the sunny beaches of Palm Springs. The looks in the collection were bohemian-inspired with bright colors, flowing fabrics and romantic pieces. There were many looks that would be perfect for any spring activity whether it is out boating on the lake or an evening patio dinner with friends and family.
After seeing Juicy Couture’s beautiful creations come down the runway, I was inspired to create my own preppy, spring-inspired look. One of the main trends of the collection were boldly colored pieces. Following this look, I chose a pair of bright pink, cuffed skinny jeans as the focal point of my look. I found this specific pair at Forever 21, meaning they were perfect for my outfit without breaking my bank. Because the collection featured many white bohemian looks, I chose a Free People white top. With lace, cutout straps and crisscrossing details in the front and back, this top was a flowing, fun addition to my bold pants. The top also had a very open back so I paired a black lace bandeau with it to tie in with the lace on the straps of the top. To finish my inspired look off, I added a pair of simple brown wedges that are both spring-inspired to show off my bright red toenail polish and also comfortable for running around to classes and campus meetings.
With many bold looks coming down the runway, the collection featured simple, understated accessory accents to complete the looks. With this trend in mind, I chose to layer pink and brown bracelets to tie in the pink pants and brown shoes while adding a few different shapes and textures to my outfit.
Juicy Couture’s collection felt fresh and forward. It is a great inspiration for a look that can be fun and flirty during the day and transition to the evening with a few simple changes.
