STYLE GURU STYLE: Fringing Out

‘Tis the season to be jolly, not because Christmas is fast-approaching, but because fall has finally arrived. The season of monochromatic color palettes, layered clothing and eccentric outerwear has finally graced us with its presence and its appropriate jacket-wearing weather.

When it comes to fall trends for the 2015 season, I think we can all agree that fringe and suede pieces have taken the fashion world by storm. Appearing in collections from Tom Ford to Balmain, fringe is something we cannot seem to get enough of. Inspired by this look from Tom Ford’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I too decided to go for an all black look that played around with some of the trends everyone will be rocking this fall.

Monochromatic looks are usually my go-to when it comes to fall wear, but in order to make things a little more interesting, I decided to play around with textures and different fabrics so that my outfit had a little more umph to it. As for my look, I decided to pair a suede fringe jacket with a subtler black and white striped top that would not take away from the statement piece that is the fringe jacket. Being from the south, fall weather hasn’t completely settled in, so in order to beat the heat while still looking chic for the fall, I decided to go with a pair of high-waisted denim shorts and some knee-high boots that I have absolutely been obsessed with. Not only do they add the perfect amount of height, but they are the perfect statement shoe that can turn a casual outfit into something more appropriate to wear out for special occasions. As for accessories, I decided to keep things very simple and threw on a black leather backpack and a pair of reflective sunglasses that add a pop of color to this very muted look.

Get My Look: 1. Fringe Jacket. 2. Reflective sunglasses. 3. Knee-high laced boots.
