STYLE GURU STYLE: (Dis)Stressed, but Well-Dressed

Hey Fashionistas/os! I can’t believe we’re already halfway through our fall semesters! With the fall weather and festivities (finally) kicking into full gear, that also means the fashion is–which is basically the most important part. I can’t stop obsessing over just about every trend of this season, from velvet everything, to mid-calf booties, to bomber jackets and most importantly: super distressed denim.

Denim jeans have been worn as a trend since as early as the 1950’s, when teenagers believed it showed their rebellion. Now, in 2016, denim is worn as one one of the most versatile trends. From jeans, to jackets, to purses and even chokers, it’s worn in just about every form of clothing and accessory. On top of it’s versatility, denim is also extremely unique. Since it can be made in so many different washes, styles and prints, it gives the buyer so many different choices to find their ideal pair. Out all of the the things that denim can do, my favorite part is how easily it can be personalized. Amongst all of the Youtube videos flooding the Internet on how to distress your own jeans, the company Carmar Denim, decided to take distressing into their own hands. The jeans shown in my shots were purchased from LF stores, which sells the Carmar Denim line. By overly-distressing the jeans, they were able to give the denim a super unique feel. I especially love the messy slits on the back, which show that the fun doesn’t end after looking at the front.

Don’t be fooled, the details don’t end with the denim! My shots also featured my new two favorite outfit staples, oversized belts and crafty chokers, which I add to just about every outfit to tie everything together. Along with all of this, the outfit used my favorite color of this fall, olive, in the oversized anorak jacket and added a cute black bodysuit and matching booties to bring in the basics.

Remember, there’s no such thing as stress in college, as long as you’re well-dressed!
