STYLE GURU STYLE: Bootylicious

Black, patent high-heeled booties are my new obsession. They’re dark-toned (yes I’m one of those freaks obsessed with the color black) and they’re great for the fall! The shoe is an apparent it trend in the fashion industry right now, and I can see why.

For some months now, many designers have been incorporating the daring and sophisticated boot in their runway looks. The one that caught my eye was the Christian Dior fall 2015 ready-to-wear Show. The brand’s Belgian creative director, Raf Simons, managed to combine elegant neutral pieces with the almost leather-like boots (whether they be knee or ankle-length).

Fortunately, Raf’s runway design was easy to recreate. To translate the trend into an everyday look in line with my personal style, I decided to go for an “all-black” outfit, whilst incorporating my personal patent ankle booties.

I kept my outfit fairly simple. It was composed of dark colors; I wore high-waisted pants, an open-back bodysuit and a leather jacket over my shoulders. Paired with my boots, this created a fairly edgier look in comparison to the minimalistic and simple designs worn on the Dior runway.

I first saw the shoes at Zara; however, they didn’t have my size (having huge feet can be annoying sometimes) so I ordered them online. I kid you not, the moment I got the email that my order was delivered”, I ran to my door. I find they are tremendously unique. And, the best part about them is the ombré heel, which is absolutely gorgeous. The shoes are extremely versatile too: because the heel isn’t that big, you can wear them on casual days and for your nights out. Have I convinced you to join the bandwagon yet?

So, I guess I’ve found the perfect excuse to keep binge-reading and watching fashion shows. If I hadn’t stumbled upon the show, I would have never known the boots existed!

Get My Look: 1. High-waisted pants. 2. A classic leather jacket. 3. Patent high-heeled booties.
