STYLE GURU STYLE: Black With A Pop of Color

My trench coat, scarf and booties are staple items in my closet, especially in the fall. This is my favorite season in terms of fashion because I love being wearing different layers of clothing.

I took my inspiration from Prada and Alexander Wang’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection. Starting with my high ponytail, I took my inspiration from Prada and their decorative high ponytail, but gave it a more laid back twist; I also added curls instead of hair jewelry. Miuccia Prada decided to mix things up and add a futuristic high ponytail to all of his models on the runway. These simple, high ponytails make a bold statement that allows women to embrace their femininity and take more risks. Alexander Wang’s collection was my favorite, simply because it was an all black collection. Black is a color that will never go out of style, especially in New York. Wang managed to make the all-black look pop with slicked and spiky hairdos.

To imitate this look, I decided to keep the all black color scheme and added little details to mix it up. You can always add a pop of color to add a little something extra and change the overall look of your outfit. Even something as simple as lipstick will spice up your overall look. I decided to add a scarf for some color. To complete this look, you can’t forget ankle boots, which tie the whole outfit together.

Get My Look: 1. Platform ankle boots. 2. A scarf. 3. A trench coat.
