STYLE GURU STYLE: Black and White

My style can be classified as “edgy”. I love wearing darker shades and throwing on fun accessories. Alexander McQueen’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection was my inspiration for my outfit choice. Alexander McQueen has been one of my favorite designers since I was young because of his “edgy” style and unique touch. From the skull print scarves to the famous yet odd “Armadillo” heels worn by Lady Gaga, McQueen is a success.

Sarah Burton’s use of dark colors and leather on the runway inspired me to go all-black with some white. I combined a black and white poncho with fringe on the bottom with a black thermal underneath to keep me warm. The shape of a poncho is comparable to a rectangle silhouette which I had seen a few times throughout the runway. I paired my poncho with a pair of black faux leather leggings. I then paired a fabulous pair of black booties to complete my outfit. I added a few small details by accessorizing my hand with custom silver rings.

On the runway a few models are showing off their own black booties, which inspired me to pair the three inch heels with the remainder of my outfit. In the end my outfit kept me warm and satisfied McQueen’s signature “edgy” look.

Get My Look: 1. An oversized sweater or poncho. 2. A comfortable pair of faux leather leggings in any color preferred. 3. Any pair of booties in brown or black.
