STYLE GURU STYLE: Adam Selman

While flowers bloom and blossoms bud, the earth becomes a greener place for the season. But despite the warm temperatures, designers know that in order to be ahead, they have to create their looks for the fall season in the months to come. And while I love the warmth and sunshine as much as the next girl, it’s hard not to lust over Adam Selman’s fall 2015 runway collection. His looks for the fall feature classic prints such as plaid and stripes in smaller and less bold form.

One of my favorite components about Selman’s fall 2015 collection is the simplicity of the shapes and prints. He managed to work some of the most timeless dress silhouettes and make them into something modern and fun. Selman’s looks for fall feature pieces such as button-downs paired with oversized sweaters and, plush trench coats over mini dresses.

However, since it is still spring in the real world, my interpretation of his line had to be adapted. My incorporation of his looks was by pairing a relaxed-fit baby doll dress with heeled booties. In his line, Selman’s models wear boots and socks pulled to the lower calf. In my dress there is a slim and small stripe pattern that gives the look an essence of Selman’s collection with the smaller prints. To make my outfit more appropriate for a day of running errands, I added my favorite tote bag to carry all of my daily essentials.

Get My Look: 1. A babydoll dress.  2. Heeled booties.  3. Calf socks. 4. A large tote bag.
