STYLE GURU STYLE: ’70s-Inspired

I am living for the comeback of ’70s-inspired fashion for the fall season. I love the high-waisted flare pants, ribbed turtlenecks and earthy colors. ’70s fashion is iconic, and I could not be more excited to incorporate some elements into my wardrobe as the weather gets colder.

The ’70s is embodied in alice + olivia’s pre-fall 2016 collection. From the bold, warm-toned floral prints to the flowy silhouettes, this collection takes us back to a time where everyone aspired to be groovy and mod. A few favorite pieces of mine include this suede skirt ensemble and this monochromatic outfit. The warm earth tones in this collection inspired my outfit the most.

After I saw the navy and camel color-blocked cardigan featured in this photo, I knew I had to incorporate a similar one I had in my wardrobe. I was insistent upon wearing a ribbed turtleneck, because I truly do believe turtlenecks capture the essence of the ’70s. To finish off my outfit, I grabbed my black, high-waisted, wide-leg pants. I tied in a pair of camel ankle booties to keep the color theme neutral.

I wanted to make a statement with my gold necklace, while also keeping the rest of my jewelry pretty minimal. I threw on a neutral brown purse with a suede tassel since suede was, and continues to be, such a staple material.

For beauty, I parted my hair down the middle and kept the ends natural for a ’70s feel. I kept the makeup neutral and glowing with quite a bit of bronzer on my cheeks and highlighter on my cheekbones.

Get My Look: 1. Wide-leg pants. 2. Any ribbed turtleneck. 3. A warm-toned cardigan or jacket.
