STYLE GURU STYLE: ’70s-Chic

As a lover of ‘70s fashion trends, I am thrilled to say that it’s not leaving anytime soon. I’ve collected some of my very own ‘70s style pieces throughout the year and was excited to incorporate them in my everyday looks after I saw Joie’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear show. Her show included all things bohemian: paisley dresses, A-line skirts, peacoats and suede boots. The look that caught my eye were these high-waisted flare jeans that brought me back in time. The collection screamed fall and had the perfect boho feel.

I chose to work with the flare jeans trend using items already in my wardrobe. I bought these jeans on sale at Forever 21 and they were sitting in the back of my closet waiting for some love. Thank you, Joie, for reminding me why I purchased these jeans in the first place. Although the particular outfit I focused on in the collection was paired with a chiffon top and a turtleneck sweater, I chose to pair my jeans with an off-the-shoulder, black crop top. I kept the outfit simple, but added a retro-vibe twist. To do that, I chose to accessorize with some white, cat eye sunglasses and a pair of nude, strappy heels.

I’ve always been the type of Fashionista that works with simplicity, so I took Joie’s collection as inspiration to find my ’70s feel again. I think this decade will stay in the fashion world for a long time. Can you dig it?
