STYLE GURU BIO: Viviana Montalvo

Hello Fashionistas! My name is Viviana Montalvo and I am a sophomore attending Emory University. At this time I’m working towards a Philosophy and Business double major, and I definitely plan on pursing a career in the fashion industry after college.

Although I have always been interested in fashion, it wasn’t until last year that I started thinking about my personal style. From first to 12th grade I had been wearing uniforms to school, so Emory really pushed me to think about what I wear every day. However, since I go to such a style conscious school where I am inspired by my peers, that transition has not been too hard. (Side note: a lazy day does NOT go unnoticed.)

My style is constantly evolving by what inspires me that moment, day, or season. At this time, I am super obsessed with Australian brands like Sabo Skirt and Peppermayo; they are able to effortlessly combine beachy, edgy and girly into a cool look. Additionally, street style is having a hot moment, so that grunge look definitely influences my impulse buys (white Dr. Martens anyone?).

For my look, I paired white jeans with a flowy halter cami and tied a chambray shirt around my waist to pull the whole look together. Additionally, I accessorized with a pair of blue reflective glasses, to add a pop of color, and my go to cross-body bag.

This is my very fist time with CollegeFashionista so I’m pretty nervous, but mostly super excited to showcase the diversity of Emory’s style to the world! I’ll be bringing you the best we have to offer here at Emory so be sure to check out my column!
