Hello college Fashionistas/os! My name is Shirleen Chong and I am a senior Managerial Economics major at University California of Davis. Originally I come from the hot and humid city of Jakarta, Indonesia! Coming from this hot weather I prioritize comfort but still trying to look put up together. It’s what I call as “making an effort to look good effortlessly” if that makes any sense.

I’m in love with monochromatic, it’s simple and you can never go wrong with it. Obsess with “killer” heels that scream out statement and cute accessories to give my simple look a little flare and make that outfit really mine. So that’s why in this first post of mine, I wear a simple white tank top and shorts and pop in a fringe vest that makes every step I take look very dramatic. I pair it with simple necklace, go-to cross-body bag and a string belt that I turned into a bracelet. And yes I won’t forget to add some height with “bad boys” heels.

I didn’t pops out magically loving fashion, the beginning of my fashion journey starts when I was a little kid. Being the only female in my family, my mom always sees me as a Barbie to dress. Looking back to my childhood picture never fails to amuse me on how my mom styles me. I remembered getting scold if I didn’t dress nicely, and my mom would ask me to change my clothes. And look at me now; I spend most of my free time reading fashion blogs, news and street styles. Fashion has been a huge part in my life, and has become my source of happiness and confidence.
