STYLE GURU BIO: Shadé Alli

Hey Fashionistas/os, my name is Shadé Alli and I’m a Fashion Merchandising junior at Virginia Commonwealth University.

Fashion has always been my creative outlet. There’s just something magical in the way a great outfit can make you feel. Whether you’re rocking a new pair of shoes or dressing up an old dress with new accessories, you feel reinvented every time. That’s what I love about fashion.

The plans for my future in the fashion industry have definitely been tweaked here and there over the past few years. Since I was a kid, I’ve always wanted to be a designer. I tried to make something new out of any piece of scrap fabric I could find. Designing is still a dream of mine but I’ve fallen in love with fashion journalism. That’s why I am so excited to be back at CollegeFashionista as a Style Guru this fall. CollegeFashionista is has everything you need to know about college fashion and campus style. Whether you’re looking to try a new trend you’ve seen on campus, or you’re just in search of some style inspiration, you can find it here. I’m really looking forward to providing as many tips as possible to help you all take your personal style to the next level.

VCU is full of diversity and fashion risk takers. In terms of my own personal style, I’d say I’m very versatile. I love getting dressed up and trying new trends. My look is usually edgy or girly, or a combination of the two. However, lately I’ve been attempting to break that mold and try my hand at a more business causal look. My favorite look so far has been a pair of high-waisted jeans, a structured blazer and a pair of peep-toed booties.

Fashion and style has always been my world, and I can’t wait to share it with you all.
