STYLE GURU BIO: Sarah Kenney

Hello my fellow fabulous Fashionistas! My name is Sarah. I live right outside of Boston, Massachusetts and am currently attending Lasell College. I am a fashion merchandising major and will be going into my second semester as a sophomore. I work at David’s Bridal as a stylist. I am able to consult with brides about their journey in order to find the wedding dress for their big day. I also do personal styling on the side and am always the friend that will help you pick out the perfect outfit.

My obsession for fashion has been strong and never-ending. Ever since I was a little girl, I would draw big-headed women in all the fashionable clothes I wish I had. My relationship with fashion has grown deeper since I began studying it. With experience and knowledge, I have learned to appreciate the fashion industry and everyone’s unique style. Nothing makes me happier than styling someone in an outfit that makes them feel confident, beautiful, and ready to conquer the world.

Fashion is always changing, but style is all about you. I would describe my style as being girly, over-the-top sometimes, full of life, and sparkly. I believe that everyone should wear what they want and what they are comfortable in. I personally always like to have some sort of statement piece in my outfits. May it be a pop of color, a heavy piece of jewelry, a big furry coat, or even a crazy print to set off the whole look. I like when things are unexpected and not defined. Everyone’s style is based off of what they are drawn too. I do not believe that anyone’s one style should be strictly classified into a category, but rather their style just being them.

For this outfit, I chose one of my go-to winter cozy faux fur vests. The minute it is cold enough here in New England, I immediately begin incorporating all of my faux fur into my outfits (which is a lot). To continue the warm aspect of this outfit, I paired my cowl necked cream sweater dress underneath. Knee-high boots have been such a popular choice this fall and winter season. They are such a fun way to elongate your legs, and get away with not having to wear tights to keep warm. This outfit is one of my favorites, and is also a great representation of the kind of Fashionista I am.
