STYLE GURU BIO: Samantha Kamen

Hellooo, it’s me again! I am so happy to be back with the CollegeFashionista team for another semester. If you’re new to my page, welcome! My name is Samantha Kamen, and I am a junior, majoring in Advertising at Indiana University. This past semester, I had to make my first real eye-opening changing-the-course-of-my-life’s-direction decision (drum roll please). I changed my major. Normally, this wouldn’t be a big deal, but after spending two and a half solid years in the business school, my switch to the media school mid-semester was kind of a big deal! Once I realized my passion was creative advertising, I knew I had to make the leap to change. Seeing as how this upcoming semester is my first actually IN the media school, on a scale of one to 10 of excitement, I’d say I’m a 12!

Along with this revelation came another: as I have grown from this experience, so has my sense of style! Although I’m a huge fan of bright colors, I’m currently favoring all black erry-thing, neutrals and very subtle accessories (with an occasional pop of color!). I’m a huge fan of the normcore look. I pretty much live in ripped jeans and combat boots every day—these cool leatherette legging-jeans are an exception! I would say current my fashion inspirations are Lauren Conrad (as always), Krista Perez and Julia Engel. If you don’t follow them on Instagram, hop on it. You won’t regret it, I promise.

With everything this semester, my goal is to find the beauty in the simple. I hope you’ll enjoy finding it with me too! Stay #RAD!
