Hey guys! My name is Regan Keen, and I’m a freshman at Virginia Tech studying fashion merchandising and design. I’ve always followed an interest in fashion, and I’m super excited to complete a semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!
My fascination for fashion really sparked around when I was a sophomore in high school when I started taking a few classes that were focused around it. Come the summer before my senior year, I was lucky enough to take a trip to the thriving New York City and take classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Seeing the individualism and creativity that goes into the industry of creating clothes for people made me want to pursue it as a career.
My style has always been centered around basic pieces—I’m a strong believer that these black jeans and some black booties are staples in every closet. I like to dress in neutrals because they give you the option to either dress up or down depending on your mood and the occasion, and layering with sweaters, tanks, and this trusty bralette can make any outfit polished and complete. I love keeping my eye out for outfit inspiration in street style, pop culture, and trend forecasts for upcoming seasons.
In my free time I’m a self-proclaimed foodie—my friends and I like to spend our money trying out the restaurants around downtown Blacksburg on the weekends and exploring the beautiful nature in the areas around our campus.
