STYLE GURU BIO: Rachel Perry

Hello my fellow fashion lovers!

My name is Rachel Perry.  I am a junior at the University of Nebraska- Lincoln.  Originally from Los Angeles, California, I came to Lincoln for their great fashion merchandising program and spirited football team.  It is a blessing to be able to study something every single day that I am so passionate about.

I have been in love with fashion since an early age. However, fashion did not always love me back. I used to rock ponchos, star-shaped hoop earrings and cargo pants with sequin shirts. Today I would describe my style as minimal, classic, edgy, trendy and everything in between. I love having the ability to express myself through my outfit choices.

Today, I express my love of fashion through my involvement in many clubs and activities on campus.  I am the vice president of Montage, the fashion club on the University of Nebraska campus and write the fashion column for my school newspaper, Daily Nebraskan.  I am also working on starting the University of Nebraska’s first ever fashion magazine called This Season.

In my spare time, I enjoy making smoothies, watching Netflix with my roommates, and running half marathons.  Lincoln, Nebraska is the perfect place to do these things.  It is the hidden gem of the Midwest. It’s filled with beautiful buildings, cute coffee shops and some seriously cool style.

This will be my second year as a style guru for CollegeFashionista and I couldn’t be more excited.  I can’t wait to show you all the rad style in Lincoln and how to incorporate runway trends into your own wardrobes. Have a great semester!
