STYLE GURU BIO: Paige Jansen

Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Paige, just like a page in a book (but please don’t forget the i). I’m a junior at Hofstra University in the greater New York area and this semester I’m a first time Style Guru.

I’ve grown up and lived my whole life in New York, just minutes away from the city. My love for everything fashion oriented from taking classes at the Fashion Institute of Technology while I was still in high school. I enrolled in the Saturday Live program, taking classes in draping, watercolor and styling. The classes allowed me to find my personal style and embark on my own style journey.

Aside from my love for fashion, I fell in love with writing as well. I’m currently working on my bachelor’s degree in Journalism with a minor in Public Affairs. My aspirations in the field of journalism would be to incorporate fashion with journalism, working for a magazine, or to enter the world of entertainment journalism.

When I’m not at school or dreaming of being the next Carrie Bradshaw, I’m listening to Taylor Swift’s album, “1989.” My love for Taylor Swift has also made its way into my wardrobe with my obsession of crop top and skirt sets just like hers. You can often see me rocking those during the warmer months on campus.

As it cools down you can see me in comfortable cardigans, jeans, leather boots and always wearing a statement necklace to tie it all together. But for now, I’m pairing my favorite statement necklace with a colorful romper and the perfect sandal to represent my favorite go-to style. You can often see me in my favorite brand, Free People, showcasing the laid-back style I have. Just check out my Style Guru photos above.

Outside of fashion, I have a few other things I’m obsessed with. I absolutely love Starbucks and really any type of coffee. I couldn’t survive or function without it. And when it comes to my coffee I’ve got a long list of Starbucks lovers just like Taylor Swift (oh wait, she didn’t say that, but I swear she did). Anyway, I love a good Starbucks caramel macchiato any day. Everyone who knows me knows that my other obsession is macaroni and cheese. It can be any cheese or any kind of pasta. I love it all.

I’m so excited to be a Style Guru this fall (and maybe a little wired on the Starbucks coffee too), but I can’t wait to see what’s in store for this semester. I’m so happy to be a part of the rad CollegeFashionista team and to embark on this journey as a Style Guru. There’s nothing that makes a journalist happier than getting to write about her passion and fashion is that for me. Get ready for all the trends and campus favorites this season. I can’t wait to show them to you.
