Hey everyone, my name is Nikki Battle! I’m a senior at Virginia Commonwealth University. My major is fashion merchandising and I absolutely love it! I transferred to VCU last fall from a community college in my hometown of Fredericksburg, VA, so this is my second year at VCU. I was super happy with the first year and I enjoyed most of my classes and had some pretty great professors. However, I am beyond excited to be graduating in the spring!
This is my first semester interning for CollegeFashionista and I’m really excited to be doing it. I have had a love for fashion for as long as I can remember. I’ve always loved to dress to express my own personal style and personality. I’ve also always loved looking to see what celebrities were wearing in the magazines, and of course my favorite hobby, shopping! I plan on using my internship here at CollegeFashionista as another way to express my style and love for fashion.
The internship with CollegeFashionista will be my second internship. Over the summer, I interned at a bridal boutique named miLA Bridal. I really loved the internship because I was able to learn a ton even though it was a short period of time. I got to help with bridal fittings, implement my own marketing strategy for the company, and work on visual merchandising which was very cool. I’m not quite sure what I want to do after college. I’m currently leaning towards being a buyer or working in advertising. I’m really hoping that I can come to a decision by the end of fall semester, so I can start looking for jobs and hopefully have one lined up for after graduation.
