STYLE GURU BIO: Nicole Griffin

Hi Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Nicole and I am a junior at Rutgers University double majoring in supply chain management and marketing. This is my fourth (!!!!) semester writing for CollegeFashionista. Being a Style Guru is such a creative outlet for me and I love writing about my favorite trends I see around campus each month. Not only am I inspired by the bloggers, celebrities and models I follow on Instagram and Snapchat, but everyday walking to class I see someone wearing an outfit I need to have.

My past two years at Rutgers really exposed me to a variety of different people and the diversity definitely has impacted my style. I come from a relatively preppy town; J.Crew and Vineyard Vines are the norm. Living in New Brunswick has allowed me to observe different trends and styles and even try them out myself. Being so close to Manhattan also has its perks—just an hour-long bus ride and I’m thrown into the most eclectic, stylish and alive city in the world.

I’ve been interested in fashion for as long as I can remember. My past two internships with Roberto Coin and VEDA have solidified my aspirations of working in the fashion industry as a director or VP of sales. But as I work to make my dreams come true, this fall I’ll be on the hunt for girls rocking the biggest trends of the season: velvet everything, statement chokers, over-the-knee boots, off-the-shoulder tops and fur. To all my fellow Scarlet Knights, I’ll be keeping my eyes peeled for you on campus!
