STYLE GURU BIO: Misheel Tserenbat

Hello, hello! I hope everyone who is reading this article is having a fabulous day.  My name is Misheel Tserenbat. I was born and raised in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia. I moved to Des Plaines, Illinois in the summer of 2008, and now I am anxiously waiting to start my third year at DePaul University, studying Business Management.  Through life changing experiences and challenges, I found a passion and love for fashion because I was able to show everyone the real “me” through a mixture of different styles from different cultures.

At the age of 10, I stumbled across Fashion TV during Fashion Week in New York. Seeing all the designers creations was a culturally and fashionably eye-opening moment. Since then, I was curious to learn more about designing and styling. I took a home-economics course in middle school to learn about sewing and designed outfits for dolls.

My personal style has changed drastically throughout the years from non-matching T-shirts and bottoms with graphics and patterns to emo style. Changing my style every so often helped me to discover my love for chic business casual and simplistic looks paired with heels, wedges or booties. My fashion inspiration for the past couple of years has been adapted from BCBGMAXAZRIA and J.Crew collections. I love to mix and match simple outfits with the right amount of edgy-chic exposure, which I believe is one of my signature style tips.

Today I am wearing my BCBGMAXAZRIA black button-down with my slim-fit light wash boyfriend jeans to concentrate on the mixture of dark and light colors.  I paired my outfit with a hint of gold and silver arm charms and a watch, and I finished the look by pairing it with black peep-toe pumps. This is a very simple yet stylish look for school, work or for any occasion.

I am very excited for this opportunity to write for CollegeFashionista and to document DePaul students’ fashion tips and inspirations.
