STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Valeriani

Hello, fellow fashion friends. My name is Meghan Valeriani; I am a junior at James Madison University, majoring in Hospitality Management and double minoring in Business Studies and Human Resource Development. It is safe to say that I have absolutely no idea what I want to do when I graduate. What I am sure of, though, is that I absolutely love fashion, and would really enjoy a career that combines all three of my passions. I am entirely too excited to begin my journey as Style Guru, and display some of my favorite winter and spring looks.

Here’s a little backstory on me. I grew up along the coast of New Jersey in a small beach town just twenty minutes south of the infamous “Jersey Shore,” so you can assume that my favorite season is summer. I absolutely love going barefoot and walking around in an ACACIA bikini. Here’s my favorite from their spring 2016 collection. When winter comes along, my style takes a turn to the dark side. My mom grew up in North Jersey, only a train ride away from New York City; she has had quite the influence in my style. She imbedded in my mind that black is everything.

As the seasons change, so do my shopping habits and Pinterest boards. Despite the change in temperature, my style inspirations stays consistent. I look to socialite Olivia Palermo and designer Rachel Zoe for most of my daily wardrobe visions. Their styles scream classic and chic.

For my pictured look today, I took advantage of the beautiful winter weather we have been having in the northeast. I found these slouchy black jeans from Zara this fall, and absolutely fell in love. These jeans are my go-to item in my closet this season. I have had little luck finding a pair of boyfriend jeans that fit me properly with my petite figure, so I couldn’t help but purchase these jeans when I found them. I paired them with a simple, grey T-shirt. I went a little overboard black friday and bought this T-shirt in just about every single color. I combined my Jeffrey Campbell booties with a trendy necklace I just purchased from Vida Soleil.

I am excited to share more of my favorite looks and inspire some of your winter trends. Join me on my adventure, and let’s hope the warmer weather comes quickly.
