STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Roberts

Hello there! My name is Meghan Roberts and I’m beginning my senior semester at NYU where I study Film and Television at Tisch School of the Arts and minor in Psychology and Studio Art. This marks my sixth bio as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista and I cannot hide how excited and proud I am to be continue being a part of this team.

After spending the summer studying abroad in Berlin, I have subsequently been traveling around Europe and am currently writing this in Venice, Italy as you can probably tell by my photos! Though I am enjoying endless cappuccinos and Negroni’s, I can honestly say I have never been more excited to come home to New York and begin the semester.

I’ve always been fascinated by the manner in which people present themselves and utilize fashion and style as a tool for self-expression. I’m interested in what I wear and what other people wear and feel a compulsion to pay attention to it. Fashion is one of the most fascinating forms of art and is one of the easiest methods to discover your individuality and celebrate your uniqueness, which is precisely why I love writing about it and photographing it.

This fall, you’ll probably find me in denim jackets, knit crop tops, jeans from Goodwill that I cut and rip, boots and mirrored aviators. In my free time, you might see me running into Westville, drinking too many iced lattes, thrifting bizarre clothing items I’ll only wear once, wearing impractical shoes and outerwear (“I don’t care about weather” will be my famous last words) or watching movies so great they make me sad.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, when it comes to fashion and self-expression, there is no place that compares to New York City and no university that compares to NYU. In a city and at a school that has such a high bar set for creativity, fearlessness and aesthetics, I look forward to discovering what Fashionistas/os around the square will choose to wear this time around.
