STYLE GURU BIO: Meghan Reza

Whatโ€™s up Fashionistas/os? My name is Meghan and I am so stoked to be writing for CollegeFashionista for my third semester as a Style Guru! As a senior majoring in Apparel Merchandising with a minor in Marketing at Indiana University, I am always looking for new ways to stay updated on styles and trends in the fashion world. This site does such a fabulous job of that. I love this job not only because I get to write about fashion, but because I get to showcase all the RAD style my fellow Hoosiers show off on the daily. I know when you think about fashion, your mind might not automatically associate the word with Indiana (okay, itโ€™s usually pretty far off), but donโ€™t totally loose faith in us. Just because weโ€™re a big school in a tiny town surrounded by cornfields, that doesnโ€™t mean we donโ€™t have some killer style up our sleeves!

As far as my own personal style goes, Iโ€™m all across the grid. I donโ€™t exactly dress with a set genre of style because I love experimenting and trying different looks from day to day. Most often, however, I like taking classic pieces and mixing them with bohemian accents like tons of jewelry and my never-ending collection of hats! Take my outfit pictured above for example: I took a classic white button-down, but in a loose, flowy silhouette and paired it with my trusty distressed denim shorts. This look would have worked equally as well with a cool pair of distressed boyfriend jeans, just swap out the booties with some classic strappy heels for an effortlessly chic going out look.

I am currently obsessed with all things fringe and suede and these booties satisfy both of those trends. Try a similar pair; the mix of rich suede with a sleek wooden heel balances the playful fringe. I kept my outfit pretty neutral so I decided to brighten up the look with a swipe of red lipstick and my favorite beaded drop-chain necklace.

Speaking of jewelry, thatโ€™s another thing Iโ€™m head over heels for. Youโ€™ll never see me without a collection of rings, bracelets and necklaces on. I am a firm believer that jewelry can make or break an outfit, I mean, it can take any look from zero to 60 in no time at all, and who doesnโ€™t love that perfect finishing touch?

That all being said, I am so so excited to start serving up some serious hometown Hoosier street style. Follow me to stay updated on articles, fashion advice and lots of RAD stuff this semester!
