STYLE GURU BIO: MaryClaire Hipp

Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is MaryClaire Hipp and I am a sophomore at the University of Iowa, double majoring in Ethics and Public Policy and Journalism. I hope to attend law school one day, but I have a sweet spot for all things fashion and beauty. I am so excited to share my style with you and to see where my position as a Style Guru with CollegeFashionista takes me! Speaking of style, I believe my style can be explained through a quote from the very talented designer, Coco Chanel.

Coco Chanel once said, “Fashion has two purposes: comfort and love. Beauty comes when fashion succeeds.” I believe these words accurately describe my style. I live at my sorority house, which happens to be the furthest sorority house from campus. In addition, I am extremely prone to blisters. Due to this unfortunate combination, comfort is key when I’m planning what I am going to wear to class.

Thus, I like to bring an extra pair of shoes with me to class. I will usually walk to class in a pair of comfortable sandals and keep a more fashionable pair in my backpack. Here, I wore a pair of my favorite Sam Edelman heels. I love nude heels because they are so versatile and can make a large impact on an outfit.

To maintain my comfy style, I like to pair dressy heels with loose fitting tops. I especially love T-shirts with catchy phrases because they make a bold statement while still being comfortable. Plus, everyone looks good in a T-shirt!

Remember, you do not have to sacrifice comfort for fashion.
