STYLE GURU BIO: Madison Paloski

Hi everyone! My name is Madison Paloski and this is my first semester being in the CollegeFashionista Style Guru program and can’t wait to kick this off.   This is the perfect experience for me because it involves my favorite activities: writing, photography, and fashion!  I am a freshman at Lasell College right outside of Boston, MA where I study fashion communications and promotions and planning to minor in photography.

On top of attending college, I run my own little portrait photography business on the side and I am a contributor for multiple online magazine publications.  In my spare time, I am most likely reading a book or fashion magazine, sketching, or on Tumblr where I find most of my style/ mood inspirations. I’m also a big fan of the fine arts and love exploring any art museum I can.  After I leave Lasell, my goal is to travel as much as I can and work for a magazine like Vogue or Harper’s Bazaar.

My style is mostly just simple, classic staple pieces layered with unique pieces to create my own look.  When styling outfits, I usually stay minimal with jewelry with just my basic studs in the ears and my Daniel Wellington watch, but recently have been more adventurous wearing statement necklaces and layering necklaces and chokers together to make an outfit look more pieced together.

The look I added together today is just a classic denim button- down shirt with black jeans.  To add a little extra, I added on this adorable plaid vest.  This unique vest is super cozy and it has a hood and pockets making it useful in the colder weather.  To add a little extra, this tied choker pieces the outfit together.  For shoes, I am just wearing my go-to black booties. This season a pair of go to black booties is a top essential.  For makeup and hair, I want my outfits to speak for themselves, so they are usually natural, however, I do love a good bold lip from time to time.

While adventuring my way through college, my style is constantly evolving and being inspired by the numerous fashion icons on campus and online.  Style is very important to me because it tells someone’s story in what their wearing.  Not only do they look super chic, but their outfits discuss their personality and mood of the day.  Fashion is the number one form of self-expression to me and this is why I’m so excited to be a part of the Style Guru program. I can’t wait to embrace different styles and personalities!
