Hello all you lovelies! My name is Madison Irwin and I’m beyond excited to be a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista this fall! Born and raised in New Jersey, I am currently a senior at the University of Tampa, majoring in Journalism and minoring in Communications. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved to write. I may be small, but my imagination is immeasurable. Whether it’s a poem, feature story or fashion article, I enjoy all forms of writing. When it comes to my career, I would really like to write for some type of magazine (preferably in Tampa or N.Y.C.).
Right now, I write for my school’s newspaper, The Minaret, and am an editor for Her Campus, which is an online magazine targeted towards female college students. Besides writing, fashion is also a big passion of mine; very rarely will you see me out and about wearing sweatpants (unless I’m going to the gym). Fashion is a great way to express yourself and to showcase your personality. I would say that my style is a mix of edgy and boho. Although I tend to gravitate towards more unique looks, I will always appreciate a classic piece.
Since today was pretty laid back, I decided to wear something that was both comfy and cute. I love this boho look because it’s low maintenance, yet put together. I’m wearing a basic black spaghetti strap tank top tucked into my favorite pair of printed lounge pants. These pants are definitely the star of the show. They’re super comfy and the floral pattern adds a feminine touch to the outfit.
For shoes, I’m wearing a pair of silver embellished sandals. As far as jewelry goes, I decided to keep it simple, since the pants are quite busy. I went with a crescent moon necklace and a silver ring. In addition, I really like the blue nail polish I have on because It adds a nice pop of color to this black and white outfit. Whether you’re going out to dinner or just lounging around, this look can be worn for any occasion.
