STYLE GURU BIO: Lucy Guo

Let me just start by quoting the realest statement ever by Tom Ford: “Dressing well is a form of good manners.”

That is a quote I live by and I am so excited to start this new journey with you guys while sharing my passion on this amazing platform. I am definitely someone who values and lives by simplicity. I invest in the basics and wear them probably 98 percent of my time. You can never go wrong with black skinnies and a white T-shirt paired with booties or a pair of classic Converse.

Ever since I moved to L.A., fashion has played a fundamental role in how I am growing into the person I am meant to be. This city is a playground for Fashionistas to fearlessly express themselves and it has definitely inspired me to step outside of my comfort zone. I dress however I feel and I’m definitely not afraid or embarrassed to ask people to take spontaneous photoshoots of my outfit if I happen to find a fun back drop.

Some days I will roll out of bed and put on a pair of jean shorts, a plain black tank, and sneakers and call it a day. Some days I will wake up feelin’ myself and put on a statement romper with heels (when I’m already 5’9) and go to class. No matter what, I believe that your outfit should make people think whatever you want them to think about you. It is that simple and that empowering.

I am currently a junior at the University of Southern California. I am majoring in Communication and minoring Consumer Behavior. I’m still not exactly sure what I want to do with my degrees, but whatever it is, I want to be able to work with innovative people who are passionate about the work they are doing. I want to thrive in a creative environment that allows for individualism and promotes exploration of new territories. For now though, I am just trying to make the most of my last two years in college in this unpredictable city called Los Angeles.

Follow me as I explore this world, make mistakes, laugh, and discover more about this crazy person I am becoming.
