STYLE GURU BIO: Lindsay Thomaston

Hi, I’m Lindsay, and I like using an unnecessary amount of both time and Q-tips to make certain that my eyeliner stays sharp enough to kill a man—anyway.

I currently reside in the metal, concrete valleys of the Atlanta skyline, living on campus at my beautiful liberal arts university that could almost (almost) give Hogwarts a run for its money. Being amidst Hunchback of Notre Dame-esque bell towers and soaring library ceilings nearly (nearly) makes up for my Hogwarts acceptance letter being lost in the mail. It’s practically (practically) the same thing really—just with a lot more Southern-tinted accents than lilting English ones—and no cloak of invisibility, but that’s fine. My eyeliner looks too good to hide anyhow.

This is my sophomore year, and I’m presently studying communications and political science, which in this election year has been, to say the least, fun, fast-paced and interesting. It can be overwhelming, but my heart can’t stop beating with a giddy fervor at the allure of it all, nevertheless.

My favorite necklace is my camera. Accessories of choice include but are not limited to sunglasses, Lorde-reminiscent lipstick, poem anthologies, wide-brimmed hats, and perhaps most of all, a pen and well-loved notebook that I cannot leave home without. I have an affinity for cats, all things ’70s, Hamilton (who doesn’t) and most any other thing branded “theatre geek.” I prefer my coffee strong and iced, but mostly, I just prefer my coffee—and lots of it.

May your wings be sharp, and your morning brew strong—just like you.
