Ciao, Fashionistas/os! I’m super excited to be starting my second semester as a CollegeFashionista Style Guru. Writing articles about summer fashion was tons of fun last semester, but I am beyond ready to scope out the latest fall fashion trends! But, first things first, my name is Kayla Boyd and I am a senior at Eastern Michigan University. I am a double major in Journalism and Apparel and Textile Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. It sounds like a lot, but I absolutely love it. I plan to go to grad school after I graduate from EMU and I would like to pursue a Master’s degree in Journalism. My ultimate career goal is to become a fashion journalist in a major city, like New York.

Most of my days on campus are spent in leggings and sneakers, but as you can see, I love all the girly things too. I thought that my animal print crop top, wedged booties and maxi skirt were a great way to transition from summer to fall because it was comfortable for the late August, 70-degree Michigan weather, but still added those awesome fall elements of earth-tones and boots. For accessories, I always like to have a nice watch, especially in the fall. I paired my favorite Michael Kors watch and cross-body purse together to add some sass and sophistication to this look.

My obsession with fashion and my passion for writing and photography makes CollegeFashionista the perfect place for me. When I’m not working on capturing campus fashion, I like to post to my own fashion and lifestyle blog, Kayla’s Chaos. I also work in retail and I am the Arts and Entertainment editor for my campus newspaper. I am super excited to share with you guys my take on fall campus fashion this semester, so make sure you check back and have a RAD school year!
