STYLE GURU BIO: Kathy Wilbourne

I’m back! For those of you who don’t know me or who just happened to stumble across this, my name is Kathy Wilbourne and I’m a Business Management and Art double major at Lyon College. After graduating, I plan to get my MBA in fashion focused business at Kent State.

Aside from being a student, I’m also a cheerleader, sister of the Chi Omicron sorority and part-time cake decorator. I have been a cheerleader for 13 years now, and no doubt this is where my love of bows comes from. If you don’t know already, you’ll come to find that I have several addictions, such as tall shoes, colorful lipstick and everything Juicy Couture. You’ll also learn that I’m not one to encourage the purchasing of ridiculously expensive clothes. College kids don’t typically have credit cards ready to be maxed out, and with college tuition on the rise, no one can really afford to buy shoes the same price as their biology textbook.

My fashion experience so far consists of a clothing class from high school, a summer semester with CollegeFashionista and all the research I do in my spare time. I have never attended a school with any fashion related courses, but I have yet to let that stop me from learning about the industry and pursuing my goals.

My style tends to be preppy and girly, but it can still be pretty random at times, too. I’m a sucker for oxford heels and blazers, but some days, combat boots and purple lipstick are more appealing. I love to accessorize with bold bags, especially clutches, pearls and jewelry given to me by loved ones.

I’m so happy to be back with CollegeFashionista for another semester, this time on my own campus, and I hope I can continue to write articles that you guys can enjoy!
