STYLE GURU BIO: Karlie Willbern

Howdy, Fashionistas!  As you may have guessed from my greeting, I’m a Texas girl.  I am currently a senior Political Science major at Texas A&M University in College Station, Texas.  Growing up in a small town left me to focus my interests in all things creative—specifically fashion.  I began sketching in middle school, where my true passion began to blossom.  Up until the end of my senior year of high school my plan was to attend Savannah College of Art and Design for fashion design.  Granted, my plans changed but I wouldn’t have wanted it any other way.

Through Texas A&M I have had the opportunity to travel to 11 different European countries, thus sparking my interest further in the areas of politics, culture, food and, of course, fashion.  Without a doubt, the city I hold most dear to my heart is Berlin, Germany.  Living there trained me how to dress for comfort but also with an edge.  The better part of my wardrobe consists of neutral colors, giving me the opportunity to accessorize with as much creativity as I please.  With that mentioned, two accessories I utilize most often are structured hats and combat boots.  There’s something about the combination of grungy combat boots with the bohemian vibes from a structured hat that work in all the right ways.  With good core pieces such as a neutral colored dress and a sheer kimono the options are endless!

I couldn’t be more excited to begin my senior year of college as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista!  Wishing everyone a RAD school year!
