STYLE GURU BIO: Kamila Jambulatova

Hello to all the Fashionistas/os out there! My name is Kamila Jambulatova and I am a senior Journalism student at the University of Missouri- Columbia. This is my fifth semester interning for CollegeFashionista, and let me tell you that every single semester has been a little adventure in its own way. From Astana, Kazakhstan to Milan, Italy and back to Columbia, Missouri, I had a lot of fun reporting on college trends from different parts of this world.

Last spring was the most challenging in my college career. While getting through my tough reporting class, I’ve learned how to be a better journalist and person. During that semester, CollegeFashionista was my outlet to get away from all the stress and focus on something I enjoy. Taking photos, writing stories or simply looking at all the RAD outfits and getting some inspiration for the next day look has become a big part of my college life in the last year and half. I am really excited to continue writing and growing this semester.

Having a packed senior schedule, I still need to make sure to look put together. Last semester, I learned that whether I am running to cover a city council meeting or have a last minute interview with the source, I always need to be ready and look presentable. I love wearing blazers, or in this case I wore military green duster. I paired it with a black romper and a pair of classy lace-up flats. This look can be both professional and casual. Adding a brighter lipstick and more jewelry will make it even “night-out” appropriate. This look is very comfortable and polished—it’s perfect for running around all day and celebrating the first week of classes at night in.
