Hey Fashionistas/os! My name is Kaitlin Maroney. I am currently a junior at Indiana University Bloomington studying media advertising and public relations and minoring in marketing. I have always had an obsession with following blogs and it is one of my goals to start my own some day. I am beyond excited to be writing for CollegeFashionista this semester so that I can display my obsession and love for fashion! I am a huge advocate for anything that involves leather jackets, cool shoes, puppies and chocolate!
I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California, therefore fashion is basically in my blood. Growing up in such a fashionably diverse area, I have come to realize that style is not just the “hot” trend of the moment. Style is what makes you, you! I feel that style has the ability to tell a person’s story just by how they present themselves. Fashion is my art obsession! My love for fashion started at a young age. When I was little I would spend hours sketching outfits and different designs then I would spend even longer sketching my models—little stick figures with huge lips—and I even created my own little fantasy brand. Who knows, maybe one day it will actually turn into something real! I am most definitely a beach girl and fashion junkie at heart.
Currently I am wearing a light-weight lace up top (I am obsessed with everything lace up at the moment!) with light wash fringe jeans and wrap espadrille sandals. Jeans with fringe hem at the bottom are my favorite right now, the detail adds a little something extra to make the outfit more unique. My favorite way to really make a statement with any outfit is cool shoes and sunglasses. Those two accessories have the ability to make an outfit amazing.
With trends constantly coming and going, it is always fun to experiment with different styles. I cannot wait to keep sharing everything fashion around campus this semester with CollegeFashionista!
