STYLE GURU BIO: Juliana Galarza

Hello there! I am currently a freshman attending New York University and am pursuing a degree in media, culture and communications. Since I was a kid, fashion has been a major part of my life—whether that was learning how to sew and make my own clothes, planning my outfits for events and everyday life, or simply scrolling through social media and following fashion blogs. Today, I use fashion as my source of creative outlook—I find pleasure in waking up and thinking of what to wear to kickstart my brain in the morning. I love all aspects of fashion—the design (even though my art skills are not too great), photography, and marketing.

I would describe my style as modern classic, I love to intertwine a preppy look with timeless pieces such as pearls or a simple trench coat. Ever since I visited Paris last summer, I have fallen in love with the classic look that the French had. I look to the French style for inspiration of my everyday looks. If you look in my closet, you could definitely find an array of striped shirts—I can never pass up a great classic piece. It would be my dream to work for a company like J. Crew (my closet is literally full of J. Crew) or Kate Spade. Everything about the companies—from the designs, style, and marketing—inspires me to create new looks.

For this outfit, I wanted to wear something that absolutely screamed Juliana. I paired my favorite gingham button-down under a cable knit cashmere sweater to bear the chilly winter weather of New York City. To complete my look, I wore my favorite Daniel Wellington watch, my staple pearl earrings, and leather riding boots. I typically wear an outfit like this on an everyday basis—whether I’m going to class or just walking around NYC, I have learned to adapt my style to the practicality of the city.

Thank you for reading my first post, feel free to follow me on social media for more insight on my daily looks!
