STYLE GURU BIO: Jovian Osborne-Pantlitz

Hi, fellow Fashionistas/os. My name is Jovian, Jovi is preferred, and I am a proud student at Penn State University, University Park. I am currently a junior majoring in Advertising/ PR with a minor in Business. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I am excited to share my style and grace you with the presence of others. This fall 2015, I will be reporting to you guys from my college campus showing you the fall dos and don’ts, while reminding you guys that college fashion is not always sweatpants and logo T-shirts.

I love to travel; Guyana was my favorite vacation ever. While I was there, I met a couple girls, who loved to dance. Throughout the neighborhood, they were known for their unique dance moves and clothing.

Unconsciously, the girls inspired me to become an expressionist. I no longer wanted to be the girl, who blended in with the crowd. I told myself that whatever I wanted to do, whether it’s get a tattoo or just color my hair, I would do it with pride because I believe my body is my canvas, and I shall construct it however I want.

With that being said, I express my self through art, fashion and writing. Fashion is an important aspect in expressing myself. I tend to wear clothes depending on how I feel that day. All-white or all-black and platforms are my favorite articles of clothing to wear. My all-white looks are based on my beliefs to be classy and business savvy. All-black is for when I want to feel serious or chic. Jeans and sweats are rarely worn, but when they are, I’m expressing my need to feel comfortable. Dresses and skater skirts paired with a pair of thigh highs represent me expressing my freedom, while embracing my femininity. Fashion allows me to express myself without talking.

In the photos above, I am wearing items from two of my favorite online stores Misguided and ASOS: a black triangle accent bra let from Misguided, black swing skirt, white pointed zipper detail platform and Ted Baker small bow icon shoppers bag from ASOS.
