STYLE GURU BIO: Joelle Rotella

Hello Fashionistas! My name is Joelle Rotella and will be transferring to Fordham University in the fall as a junior. I am studying Communication and Media Studies and am hoping to go into the fashion or beauty industry after college!

I am extremely excited to track down all of the fashion trends here on campus! It will give me a chance to combine two of my passions: fashion and photography.

My love for photography began in high school. I took photos for a local boutique in my hometown and I soon found myself with my camera every minute. Once I started doing freelance photography here and there, I really began to love it. Over the last several years I have shot a variety of photos, including portraits and even some small fashion shows! I cannot wait to break out my camera again!

As for my love of fashion, I think it probably began when I was playing dress-up in my aunts old prom dresses as a five year old. Years later, I am now twenty-one and obsessed with fashion. You’d think by now I’d have my style down, but it has constantly changed over time and because of that, I haven’t defined my style. For me, personal style is about feeling confident and beautiful in the clothing that you love. If you love it, wear it! You don’t need to fit into the mold. That’s always been my motto.

Look for my posts this fall here on CollegeFashionista! I look forward to sharing the best fashion tips, tricks and trends with you!
