Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os, My name is Jasmine Austin and I am junior at Pace University, majoring in Communications and minoring in Journalism and Marketing. This will be my third semester with CollegeFashionista and I am more excited than ever. If you look back on my other two STYLE GURU BIO I have explained how much I love writing about fashion and what a privilege it is to write weekly for CollegeFashionista!
None of those feelings have changed—in fact I think I am more excited than ever this semester to share with you all the Fashionistas/os I walk past everyday. Going to school in New York City allows your eyes to see a lot of ensembles you wouldn’t see in another state. I mean come on we are the number one fashion capital in the world here people!
This past year living in the city has taught me more about life and fashion then I could have ever imagined. I have learned to take the bull by the horns—that is the correct expression…right? In everyday life and of course my style, New York City is a non-judgement city and that’s what I love most about it!
My style has evolved into something totally different than the old preppy/matchy girl I was in high school and even just last year (no judging). Even being a part of CollegeFashionista and seeing other Style Gurus’ style has inspired me to take my risk in my own wardrobe. And by risk I don’t mean anything crazy just something I have never done before—trying new things and seeing if I like it. That is what it is all about and that’s why we are here, right? To embrace our personal style and show off others, letting your outfit speak for you and showing people who you truly are!
