STYLE GURU BIO: Hollis Young

Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Hollis and I am a sophomore studying health sciences at James Madison University. This will be my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I am so excited for it to be my first fall season writing as well.

Writing about fashion has come easy to me and that is because it is such a big part of my life. Most of my free time is spent shopping or creating outfits in my mind (literally, no joke). When I found out about the CollegeFashionista Style Guru internship I did not know how much it would help me grow as a person. Throughout the past few semesters, I have grown in my fashion sense (thanks to other lovely Style Gurus) and in who I am as a person.

If I had to define what type of style I believe I have it would not be singular. While I love urban clothes such as dark colors, layers and simplicity, I cannot say this is my only style. I also find the other half of me very boho-chic. I wear a lot of fringe, lace and festival style clothing as well.

The outfit I chose to show was one of my more girly outfits. The simplicity of the romper with the lace up booties represents me 100 percent. By pairing this simple piece with the silver hand earrings I was able to represent another part of me that is important, my love of traveling and different cultures. Showing off a very eccentric piece gave the common romper outfit a twist and made it more me.

I cannot wait to see what this semester has to offer and am so excited to be back!
