STYLE GURU BIO: Gretchen Reese

A city girl through and through, straight from the heart of Uptown Minneapolis, I’m a lover of fast paced environments and chic fashion. I’m also an avid latte addict and brunch extraordinaire, and cat lady could even be my middle name. Black and gray are usually my go-to colors when it comes to styling a look, and that may or may not be because most of my white tops have some sort of coffee stain on them…Oops.

Last year, I had a bit of change in pace, and moved to Eau Claire for school. Now I’m an advertising and multi-media student, and spend all of my free time with my DSLR camera or finding the best coffee shops and brunch spots in town. Lately, I’ve been really digging the oldies music, and my dear love Frank Sinatra has earned a permanent spot in my music library alongside Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong.

Speaking of oldies, my fashion taste incorporates a lot of classic pieces with a slightly edgy twist. I love the model off-duty vibe that Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid pull off so well. And throughout the rest of this fall, it will definitely be easy to tell just how much I appreciate a good turtleneck…oh, and my insane love of all things chunky knit with long sleeves underneath a leather jacket.

The things that I couldn’t appreciate more in life are a great pair of stilettos, a good vanilla latte, brunch cafes, and a livestream of London and Paris Fashion Week. Travel takes up a huge part of my daydreams, and I am currently in the countdown to London mode as I’m writing this. I’m a hopeless fantasizer and daydreamer, which probably comes from the amount of romance novels that take up my bookcase.

From the firm believer that everything is better with a croissant and a coffee, here’s to a great semester and I look forward to running the streets of Eau Claire (and soon London) while taking you all along on my style-filled daydreams.
