STYLE GURU BIO: Gianna Fontana

They say if you love something set it free. Well, I’ve never been one to follow the rules. My love for fashion and writing has transcended into another semester as a Fashionista! I am so excited for everything that this school year is set to have in store. (I can almost see the floppy hats and cute leather booties now). I’m getting a little too ahead of myself here. For those Fashionistas/os who have yet to meet me, I’m Gianna! This is my second semester with CollegeFashionista, and if the school year is half as stylish as the summer was, then you’re all in for a fabulous few months!

I will be returning in a week or so to Columbia College Chicago to finish up my junior year. I am a Journalism major and a Fashion minor with the hopes of one day writing for a women’s publication such as Marie Claire, Glamour or Allure. And yes, I will most definitely be the girl fetching lattes for a while, but hey, we’ve all got to start somewhere!

My personal style is more on the simple side, but I do love a good designer piece—and my online shopping carts and wish lists definitely speak for that statement. This look features my favorite nameplate necklace. It’s a slight homage to my fictional idol, Carrie Bradshaw. (Yes, I plan on using my oven for storing my Manolo Blahniks, don’t worry).

This semester, I hope to fully capture an accurate snapshot of my school’s fashion, because it is what inspires my writing the most! Most everyone on campus is unique and holds their own signature look so dear to their heart, which is something I hope to teach every one of you to do. Be yourself and never apologize for it!

Well Fashionista/os, I haven’t fully made my coffee quota today (you’ll get to learn that’s my unique trait I don’t apologize for), so here’s to some over-caffeinated, totally fashion-filled posts this semester.
