STYLE GURU BIO: Evanne Abneri

Hey, #GuruGang!

My name is Evanne Rachelle Abneri (pronounced evan ra-shell ab-nair-ie); people who know me call me Ev and people who want to know me refer to me as that girl over there with the really cute outfit. This is my second semester writing for CollegeFashionista and I could not be more thrilled to be back!

For those still getting to know me, let me introduce myself. I am a twenty-fun-year-old student at Temple University’s Fox School of Business graduating this spring with a dual major in legal studies and entrepreneurship and innovation management. I was born and raised in a small town on Long Island, New York about halfway between the Big Apple and the Hamptons. While I will always be a super sarcastic New Yorker whose go to outfit is all-black at heart, my time living in Philadelphia has been majorly inspirational, and completely influenced the evolution of my personal style since starting college. But some things that will never change are my la-la-la-love for fashion, makeup, the color purple, Steve Madden and any form of self-expression.

My look was inspired by this killer white faux leather Betsey Johnson backpack I recently bought at a Steve Madden sample sale. It reminds me of this black Moschino version, so when I saw it in you could say it was love at first sight. To make the white of the backpack pop, I decided to wear an all-black outfit (surprise surprise). I dressed up this minimalistic black graphic T-shirt with a black wrap skort because skorts are so versatile for day to night looks! My shoe choice was obvious because I wear these strappy black faux leather gladiator sandals with a back zip-up closure from Steve Madden almost everyday. You know, for when you have be at the colosseum by five but have a date at eight. To finish off this look I chose a vampy deep plum liquid lipstick that I have been obsessed with from Anastasia Beverly Hills in the color Potion. With my favorite eyeliner and mascara from Benefit Cosmetics’ “They’re Real!” Collection, I threw on my current go-to accessories of a gold layered necklace, small gold hoop earrings and my big brown tortoiseshell round frame sunglasses and I am out the door ready to take over the world!
