STYLE GURU BIO: Emily Wells

Hello Fashionistas/os! I’m Emily and I am so excited to be back with CollegeFashionista this spring for my second semester as a Style Guru! For just a bit about me, I’m studying fashion and textiles brand management and marketing at North Carolina State University. My plans for post-grad are constantly changing, but I hope to end up in any city larger than Raleigh that will have me.

I have always been a lover of all things fashion and beauty, and that passion only grows as the days go by. Growing up, you could say I was part of the fashion police, following and pushing the “rules” of fashion. Then one day I was told that black can only be worn in the winter, and that’s when I threw my rules out of the nearest window. Most days I can be found rocking a comfy T-shirt and a pair of sneakers, but on the occasion I have somewhere to be other than class, my style is eclectic and, truthfully, whatever I feel like throwing on that day.

From leather-look leggings to over-the-knee boots and a bright pink bag—don’t forget the matching lipstick—this outfit is comfortable and warm as the days get colder. I’m a fan of mixing textures, softening sleek leather with suede and wool. I’ve got to say, this outfit is a favorite of mine. The honorable mention piece of the outfit is this cape scarf. I am obsessed with capes right now. Throw one over a plain sweater, add a few statement accessories, and you’ve got yourself the perfect outfit.

I feel certain that this semester is going to be a great one, and I hope that you’ll check back with me each month for some of my favorite looks around campus!
