STYLE GURU BIO: Elizabeth Thomas

Hey there all you Fashionistas/os! My name is Elizabeth Thomas but my friends call me Liz. This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I am so incredibly excited to be a part of the CollegeFashionista family. With only one year left, I am diving head first into my senior year at Kent State University as a Fashion Merchandising major with a minor in Marketing. Having a love for fashion since the day I can remember makes me proud to have such an awesome college experience at one of the top fashion schools in the nation.

When it comes to my own personal style, it is hard to pinpoint exactly what it is called. Whether I’m looking in my own closet or shopping, I tend to lean more towards black or neutral colors and something versatile yet comfortable. If I can wear an outfit all day and fit into different environments all while being comfortable, then my name is written all over it.

Even though I adore clothing, what catches my eye first is a nice pair of shoes, an awesome handbag and, of course, some arm candy. I’m often reminded that as a toddler I was called “the bag lady” because I had way too many, and never left the house without a purse or backpack. Still to this day, I think my family was pretty accurate. As for shoes, I had way too many then and still have too many now. I love heels because after all, beauty is pain, right? I also love boots, both short and tall, since they are worn the majority of the year here in “sunny” Ohio (said no one ever). My current arm candy trend is stacking bangles, especially the adorable ones from Alex and Ani.

I really believe you can show your own unique touch as well as show a glimpse of your personality through your shoes and accessories. My look above describes me down to a tee; comfy, classic and versatile with some major arm candy. To get a outfit like mine, throw on a pair of your favorite denim jeans, a classic top, your go-to sneakers and don’t forget about a statement handbag and accessories. I am looking forward to this experience, and can’t wait to show you all what my campus has to offer.
