Hello everyone! My name is Lizzy Otten and this is my first time writing for CollegeFashionista! I am going to be a senior at Union College in New York where I am majoring in psychology, with minors in digital media and European history.

I’ve always been interested in fashion, and as long as I can remember it has been my goal to chase my dreams in the best place possible–New York City. This has been so ingrained in my life plans, that while searching for colleges I wasted no time looking in or around my home state of Minnesota, I went right to New York. I chose upstate New York because it allowed me to follow my dreams of being a division one athlete while also being close to the city that I hope to soon call my home.

The past six months of my life have been jam packed with countless adventures spanning from backpacking Europe, to teaching English in Cambodia. I learned countless things about myself and the world while being abroad, but one fashion related discovery I made was my love for prints. One word to describe my wardrobe would be classic – black and white everything. So, after traveling through places such as Thailand, Cambodia and Morocco, I’m learning to incorporate more colors and patterns into my everyday style.

As for this look, my shirt and shorts were both picked up while I was abroad, and my sandals have been a staple in my closet since I purchased them two years ago. My go-to accessories consist of this Michael Kors watch and Alex and Ani bracelets.

I can’t wait to showcase the unique style that comes out of my small liberal arts school, while also gaining inspiration from all of the Fashionistas/os I photograph this semester!
